Reservation Policy
The Restaurant You may make reservations for dinner at the restaurant (downstairs) as far ahead as one calendar month to the date by phoning (510)548-5525, Monday through Saturday, between 9 a.m. and 9:30 p.m. PST. Friday and Saturday reservations should be made well in advance, as these tend to book up quickly. A deposit by credit card of $25 per person is required for all reservations. The deposit is not refundable unless the reservation is cancelled more than twenty-four hours ahead (or forty-eight hours for Monday night reservations). Restaurant Dinner Hours: Monday through Thursday (two seatings): first seating begins 6:00-6:30 p.m. second seating begins 8:30-9:15 p.m. Friday and Saturday (two seatings): first seating begins 6:00-6:30 p.m. second seating begins 8:30-9:30 p.m. Sunday: Closed The Café On June 1, 2000, the Café (upstairs) began taking lunch and dinner reservations up to one month to the date in advance. To reserve a table, call (510) 548-5049 between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 9:30 p.m. Monday through Saturday. This policy also applies to special events at Chez Panisse (New Year's Eve, Valentine's Day, and Bastille Day, for example). The wait for a table in the Café can be very long at dinnertime, especially on Friday and Saturday nights. The host can estimate, but of course cannot guarantee, when there will be tables available for parties without a reservation. Therefore we strongly encourage calling in advance to make a reservation. Café Lunch Hours: Monday through Thursday: 11:30 A.M. - 3:00 P.M. Friday and Saturday: 11:30 A.M. - 3:30 P.M. Sunday: Closed. Café Dinner Hours: Monday through Thursday: 5:00 p.m. - 10:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday: 5:00 p.m. - 11:30 p.m. Sunday: Closed. Chez Panisse does not accept reservations, cancellations or confirmations through the website or via email.
